Pripyat - The ghost city
It is a city located at the northern part of Ukraine, near the borders with Belarus. The Pripyat city was founded on 4 February 1970. it was the 9th Nuclear city in Soviet Union to serve the nearby Chernobyl Power Plant. It was a very beautiful city and regarded as 'City' in 1979.
But on 26th of April 1986, something happened that made people living in Pripyat to leave the City.
On morning at 1:30 a.m. number 4 light water graphite moderated reactor, During a late night safety test a power failure occurred in which safety systems were deliberately turned off. A combination of inherent reactor design flaws eventually resulted in uncontrolled reaction condition which turned water into steam generating a destructive steam explosion and open- air graphite fire. it produced considerable updrafts which led the disastrous fission products into the atmosphere for at least 9 days.
This disaster was the world's most dangerous disaster because the radioactive products from this explosion were so much disastrous and much in number that it covered much part of the Soviet union and Russia. the radio active level of these radiations were so disastrous that people had to leave their homes. The radioactive fallout was 400 times greater than that of Hiroshima bomb in Japan.
From that day till now there are radioactive radiations still present there, but now the radiation level has considerably drooped.
it has now became a tourist place.
Witnesses believes that the spirits of people who died in this explosion still roams around this town. there is another believe of the black bird of Chernobyl. It was observed in a report that in the start of 1986, the sightings of a big black creature like a bird or a headless man with 20 foot wingspan started being observed by the people working in the Power Plant. later on it was known to be as the black bird of Chernobyl. People who saw this bird reported that after seeing this they usually experienced horrific nightmares, and threatening phone calls. These reports continued to increase until the day of explosion.
People relate this incident with that happened on 15 December 1968. At that time also people used to saw a very similar creature like the blackbird of Chernobyl. They used to call it 'Moth man". On that day in West Virginia, the Silver bridge collapsed. Before this incident too this creature used to be sighted by many of the people.
Investigators have suggested that appearance of this creature is the Omen of disasters at the place where it is sighted. The physical reports of the black bird and the Moth man were very similar. The report of Horrific nightmares and threatening calls were similar in both the cases.
Both the Moth man and the black bird have not been sighted after their respective disasters that Left many Questions behind.
